Career Highlights

  • Conducted a production of  Rigoletto, Featuring Metropolitan Opera star Isola Jones as Maddalena.
  • Worked with some of Chicago’s finest brass players as Music Director of the Chicago Brass Choir
  • Appointed Assistant Conductor and Conductor of the Northwest Indiana Symphony Youth Orchestra.
  • Joined the staff of the Northwest Indiana Symphony.  While at NISO I have held the administrative positions of High School Showcase Coordinator, Production Manager and Orchestra Manager.
  • Traveled to Napa, California for several summers to work as Music Director at the Jarvis Conservatory producing stunning productions of Zarzuela
  • Conducted the Verdi Requiem, Attila, Don Carlos and Lucrezia Borga with Da Corneto Opera Ensemble in the Chicago area.
  • Began a 3 year Artist in Residence program with the Camerata Youth Orchestra
  • Conducted Metropolitan Opera star Mignon Dunn in the Medium for COT
  • Stepped in on short notice at the Elgin Symphony to replacing the ailing Margaret Hillis to much critical acclaim on a subscription concert series.
  • Accepted Music Director position with the La Porte Symphony Orchestra
  • Conducted Four Saints in Three Acts with Chicago Opera  Theater with an outstanding cast that included Jonita Lattimore
  • Conducted Where the Wild Things are at the Chicago Theater for Chicago Opera Theater
  • Appointed Associate Conductor, Chicago Opera Theater and Associate Conductor for the Elgin Symphony in the same year.
  • Spent two Summers in Idaho for Boise Opera (South Pacific, Carousel)
  • Conducted several operettas for Light Opera Works in Evanston, IL.
  • On five minutes notice, conducted the main stage production of Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet for Chicago Opera Theater.
  • Appointed Music Director of the Lake Shore Symphony Orchestra, first Chicago area orchestra position.
  • Conducted the Downer’s Grove Oratorio Society in programs featuring the Coronation Anthems by Handel and Haydn’s “Lord Nelson” mass.
  • Moved to Chicago after being appointed Assistant Conductor at Chicago Opera Theater
  • Master’s Degree in Conducting from Northwestern University.  Graduated Summa Cum Laude.  Studied principally with Victor Yampolsky
  • Studied at Conductor’s Institute, West Virginia
  • Founded the Camera Da Music Chamber Orchestra, a professional orchestra in Battle Creek.
  • After the sudden passing of my conductor professor, Herbert Butler, I was asked to step in to lead a semester of orchestra as Acting Music Director/Conductor of the Western Michigan University Symphony Orchestra.
