Energy Filled Performances

Known for his boundless energy, Phil’s enthusiastic spirit of adventure is contagious. A man of action, Maestro Bauman’s energy ignites musicians, guest artists, chorus members and patrons, bringing the auditorium together for magical performances. He has embarked upon many unforgettable musical quests in a wide variety of genres including: Carmina Burana, South Pacific, Mozart with video, diverse versions of the Nutcracker, cofounding a state-wide vocal competition and revisioning a community’s annual performance of Handel’s Messiah taking it to new artistic heights.

Collaborations for Creative Educational Programming

Maestro Bauman has assembled many teams of talented people to create relevant educational concerts for today’s young people which included customized educational materials for teachers, compelling scripts, multimedia enhancements and a wide range of talented performers. He is a conductor that happily goes the extra mile for the benefit of youth. Not only did the students learn about attending an orchestra concert, but these concerts were also interactive with audience participation, and collaborating performers included dancers, singers, actors, composers, an array of musicians and a professional whistler.

Exhilaration for the Next Generation

As conductor of the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra Youth Orchestra, College of DuPage Chamber Orchestra and the South Suburban Chamber Orchestra, he consistently brought these well-respected programs to new heights. With challenging repertoire, Maestro Bauman elicits precision and musicality from the energy of abundantly talented young musicians. He not only takes students to new musical heights but also offers them a wide range of life-changing experiences. This includes travel to participate in college workshops, attending performances of renowned orchestras and opera as well international travel with performances in Canada, Austria, Germany and Italy.

The Orchestra Industry

In tune with national trends, Maestro Bauman is active in the Chicago Southland and Northwest Indiana area. His work as a music director always goes beyond the score creating great synergy with his entrepreneurial business acumen. For over two decades he was the music director of the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra. Under his leadership, the musicianship grew to turn this community orchestra into one that followed an upward trajectory. The improvement in their quality of performance attracted a larger circle of patrons and national recognition. By the time he left this position in 2018, the orchestra attracted professional musicians that travel from a tri-state area with guest artists from around the globe.

Mr. Bauman is also a savvy businessman in the music industry. He has held management positions including Orchestra Manager, Director of Operations and Production Manager.  In the 1980s he founded of a chamber music society in Michigan and currently is president of Maestro Creative LLC, a website design and development company. He has a strong and successful background in production management for professional symphony orchestras.
